If you have been following my blog since a while now, you know how much I love matte lipsticks. I loved matte lipsticks even before it was in trend to wear matte lipstick. So I am just happy that I can find matte lipstick in different colors as well as at affordable prices. The lipstick I am reviewing today is my second purchase from Maybelline’s Creamy Matte Range Lipsticks. Previously I had reviewed the shade Flaming Fuchsia from this range which is very pigmented. Let’s see how this fares.

My Review:

Packaging- This comes in a matte black plastic packaging. The color is displayed on bottom where the name of the shade is written. The packaging is sturdy and travel-safe.

Color- The shade Lively Violet is beautiful lilac shade. It is one of those mauve shade like the Kylie Jenner lip kits have.The shade is unique and looks like a MLBB type of shade on me.

Pigmentation- The pigmentation is decent and one swipe is enough to cover my pigmented lips.

Texture and Finish- The texture is smooth and applies like a dream on lips. The finish is semi-matte and not matte. It is more of a satin finish. They are quite moisturizing on application but will dry your lips a bit after its wear time. You do need to exfoliate your lips if your lips tend to get dry.

Other Qualities- Staying power is good and stays on my lips for 4-5 hours. This is will however transfer if you have a snack or tea. It fades evenly and since it is a MLBB shade, I didn’t notice a huge difference. Also this will look best on fair to wheatish skin tone. On dusky skin girls, it will wash them out.

• Easily available online and offline

Cons:

• Transfers
• Bit drying after few hours of application

Overall: Lively Violet is a lilac shade having semi-matte finish. It is moisturizing and   highly recommended.
