DIY Friday | How to make Soft Matte Lip Cream | DIY Matte Lip Cream | DIY Liquid Lipstick like Miss Claire/ NYX
So what do you do if you are makeup obsessed like me and have a ton of products in your vanity? You experiment! That's what I did. I had a few old lipsticks lying around and since I have mainly been using matte lipsticks these days, I don't use the regular moisturizing lipsticks much. The final product from this turned out actually well and they feel like the Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream or the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
So here is the end product and how it looks on me.
If you want to try these out, here is what you will need:

If you want to try these out, here is what you will need:
1. A glass container : I used an old Maybelline container which I had kept for such experimentation's :P
2. 1-2 Lipsticks : Make sure those are your regular lipsticks. I had earlier tried this with the Maybelline 14 hr Lipsticks, and that just burns out. The silicon based lipsticks don't work in these.
3. Lakme Rose Powder: Yup thats right. I had earlier used foundation for making liquid lipstick but it made the color too light and didn't exactly give me the matte finish.
Steps:
1.Remove lipsticks from their bullet packaging and add them in the container. The container should be a glass or ceramic one since we are going to put it in the microwave.
2. Now put the container with those lipsticks for about 40 seconds. See the consistency of the lipsticks and put it again in the microwave for 10-20 seconds more to melt the lipsticks to a liquid consistency. Then take it out.
3. Add a small amount of Lakme Rose powder in it and keep mixing it. Keep adding a small amount of the powder until the mixture becomes like a cream. Since this is a finely milled powder, the color of the lipstick won't lighten.
4. Use a lipbrush and apply your customized shade of lip cream.
Here's the lipsticks which I used to get this shade:
Maybelline Bronzed Orange + Elle 18 Red Rouge = This awesome shade
It is a dusty rosy shade. I am finding it hard to name this shade. Please leave your name suggestions in the comments section

May I ask you, how long does your DIY lip cream lasts? Is it transfer proof or kiss proof? If not, do you have an easy trick to make it transfer proof / kiss proof? :) Thanks
